Extractability employ a dedicated team of experienced, highly-skilled engineers who operate quality COSHH Testing, installation, design and air/noise monitoring services across the UK, and examine all types of LEV installations.
The COSHH regulations require that all LEV systems, including oil mist, welding fume, smoke and dust extraction units, are subject to a thorough examination and tested every 14 months. It is a requirement for compliance with health and safety standards and test reports often form part of a company’s insurance requirement. Extractability provide a comprehensive LEV testing service on all makes and types of extraction equipment, working strictly in accordance with HSG258 guidelines on Controlling Airborne Contaminants and conforming to HSE standards.
The Solution
A long established precision engineering company had been using Extractability for many years for testing their existing LEV systems, undertaking noise and welding fume monitoring.
The manufacturer decided that they needed to expand their welding and fabrication area. They approached Extractability as they were happy with the LEV services and professionalism that their company received.
Extractability were asked to provide a tailor made proposal to supply two new welding extraction systems into the increased production workshop.
Objective
To install two new welding extraction systems and two additional extraction arms onto an existing system. Solution Six self-supporting extraction arms linked to a ductwork manifold system, then into an externally mounted extraction fan discharging to atmosphere at high level.
Continued support
All the systems are tested annually by Extractability and the performances are of high standards. The installed system captures the welding fumes at source protecting the breathing zone of the operator and other employees working in the surrounding area. Extractability will still take care of all the LEV through examination and testing not only on welding extraction systems but for all the customer’s other extraction systems already onsite. The manufacturer was so impressed by the efficiency, products and the after sales service, that they will continue to choose Extractability for all their future fume extraction solutions.
