The course enables anyone with a basic understanding of oxy-fuel gas welding to inspect portable oxy-fuel cutting and welding gas equipment in line with the Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 and BCGA CP7. Certification is valid for three years.

The hazards of gases, and incident case studies
Cylinder identification; hazards of oils, greases and PTFE tape
Pressure, oxygen enrichment and oxygen deficiency
Personal protective equipment and emergency procedures
Manual handling, storage and transport
Regulators; backfires and flashbacks; torches, nozzles and hoses
Pressure Systems Regulations and mobile oxy-fuel system procedures
Safe set-up and shutdown, and annual inspection procedures
Test and response papers
