SIF Gouging Carbons
SKU ELC19430B
These gouging carbons are formulated for the carbon-arc gouging process, which melts metal with an electric arc and blows it away with a jet of compressed air. A precisely formulated blend of carbon and graphite delivers excellent arc stability, superior metal removal rates and resistance to breakage, producing a uniform diameter and clean, slag-free grooves. They gouge most metals efficiently, including carbon and ductile irons, copper, aluminium and other high-strength alloys.

Air Carbon-Arc Gouging Electrode 19.0x430mm — Pk25
They're designed for the air carbon-arc gouging process, which melts metal with an electric arc and then blows it away with a jet of compressed air for metal removal.
They come in diameters from 4.0mm up to 19.0mm (in 305mm and 430mm lengths), and in pack sizes of 25, 50 and 100.
They're suitable for efficient gouging of most metals, including carbon steel, ductile irons, copper, aluminium and other high-strength alloys.
They contain a precisely formulated blend of carbon and graphite for efficient metal removal, giving excellent arc stability, superior metal removal rates, resistance to breakage, uniform diameter and clean, slag-free grooves.
Yes. The air carbon-arc process removes metal by melting it with the arc and then blowing the molten metal away with a jet of compressed air, so a compressed air supply is required.
