SIF Mild Steel Electrodes
SKU RE763250-SV · 7018
STANVAC 7018 low-hydrogen electrodes are designed for high-strength welding of carbon and low-alloy steels where crack resistance and weld integrity are critical, producing low-hydrogen deposits that help reduce the risk of hydrogen-induced cracking. They deliver a smooth, stable arc, good slag control and reliable mechanical properties, and are commonly used in structural steelwork, fabrication, maintenance and repair.

STANVAC 7018 Low Hydrogen Electrode — 3.2mm
These mild steel MMA electrodes are for general fabrication, maintenance and structural welding on mild and carbon steels. The range covers everyday and higher-strength jobs.
The 6013 is a rutile-coated electrode for general everyday welding, while the 7018 is a low-hydrogen electrode for stronger, more crack-resistant welds. You'd pick the 7018 where joint strength and crack resistance matter more.
The range is offered in 2.5mm, 3.2mm, 4.0mm and 5.0mm, so you can size the rod to your plate thickness and amperage.
The 7018 electrodes are vacuum packed, which helps keep the low-hydrogen coating dry until you're ready to use them. The pack size listed for this range is 5kg.
These electrodes are designed for smooth arc characteristics and good bead appearance, making them a dependable choice for both structural and maintenance work.
