A flashback arrestor fitted at the torch end of a gas hose to help prevent dangerous back-feeding of gases, fastened inside the hose using hose clips. This is a vital item of gas safety equipment and is available in left-hand (LH) threaded versions for fuel gases and right-hand (RH) threaded versions for oxygen and other inert/oxidising gases.

Flame-Trap LH — 3/8" to 5/16"
It is a vital item of gas safety equipment that helps prevent dangerous back-feeding of gases. It must be used at the torch end of a hose.
Fit it at the torch end of the hose, fastened inside the hose using hose clips. This position is important for it to work as intended.
It is available in left-hand and right-hand versions. Match the thread direction to your gas line and equipment; left-hand threads are used for fuel gases and right-hand for oxygen and similar gases.
It comes in 1/4-1/4in, 3/8-1/4in, 3/8-3/8in and 3/8-5/16in size combinations, so you can match or convert between common hose fittings.
It fastens inside the hose using hose clips, which are supplied separately. The clips crimp over the hose to hold it firmly and create a gas-tight seal.
