Direct/Indirect Vent Shaded Welding Goggle — EN166/EN169
They are shaded gas welding goggles designed for use in oxy/fuel (oxy-acetylene) gas welding, where they protect the eyes from the bright light and radiation of the flame.
The lenses are shade SH5, a fixed shade suited to oxy/fuel gas welding work.
Yes. The shaded lens is CE approved to EN166 (eye protection) and EN169 (welding filters).
Both are offered as shaded goggles; direct-vent models allow more airflow, while indirect-vent models route ventilation around the lens for added protection against spatter and particles. Both carry the same shade 5 lens and CE approvals.
These are intended for oxy/fuel gas welding. Electric arc processes such as MIG, TIG and stick produce much stronger radiation and generally require a welding helmet or shield with an appropriate higher shade rather than gas goggles.
