Lanthanated Tungsten Electrodes 1.5% (Gold) 1.6–3.2mm
They're used to strike and maintain a TIG welding arc. These are 1.5% Lanthanated (gold-tip) tungstens, suited to welding both ferrous and non-ferrous metals on AC or DC with good re-ignition.
The colour code identifies the alloying element. Gold-tip indicates 1.5% Lanthanated tungsten, which offers good re-ignition and works across AC/DC on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It's an alternative to thoriated types for general-purpose use.
This range is available in 1.6mm, 2.4mm and 3.2mm diameters, and the electrodes are 150mm long. Select the diameter to suit your amperage and material thickness.
Choose by the metal and current type: as a guide, thoriated (red) suits DC work on steels and stainless, zirconiated (white) suits AC on aluminium, and ceriated (grey) covers a range of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. These lanthanated (gold) tungstens run on AC/DC for both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. If you're unsure which fits your process, ask our team.
