The NM adaptor is threaded to connect to the heating nozzle, and the nozzle has a holding nut at the heating end that can be removed to replace the consumable heating insert once it has worn down in use.

NM Heating Nozzle Consumable Insert
It's the consumable heating insert for the NM type heating nozzle, designed to be used with the NM type cutter or HD cutting attachment for oxy/propane heating.
The insert is held by a nut at the heating end of the nozzle, which can be removed so the consumable heating insert can be replaced when it wears down during use.
The NM adaptor is threaded to connect to the heating nozzle, and the nozzle itself holds the replaceable insert via a nut at the heating end.
It's used with the NM type cutter or HD cutting attachment for oxy/propane heating.
