SIFTRODE NiFe Cast Iron MMA Electrodes
It is a cast iron MMA electrode with a NiFe bimetal core wire, dedicated to cold welding grey, nodular and malleable cast iron. It is also used for joining cast iron to steel.
It comes in 2.5mm and 3.2mm diameters, supplied in 1kg packs. Choose the diameter to match your material and current.
The NiFe core gives excellent welding properties and does not overheat, and welding speed is high. It produces almost no spatter and the slag removes easily.
Yes, it can be welded with AC and DC. This gives flexibility depending on the power source you have available.
Cold welding refers to a technique that keeps heat input low to reduce the risk of cracking in cast iron. This electrode is designed for that approach because it does not overheat.
