It works with a mixer, which combines the two gases before they reach the welding nozzle. Available in Lightweight and Heavy Duty types to suit more portable work or heavier-duty use.

Oxy-Fuel Welding Shank — SIF
The shank carries the oxygen and fuel gas and controls the flow of gas to the nozzle. It works with a matching mixer, which combines the gases and holds the welding nozzle.
This is the Type 3/5 shank, part of the Type 3/5 oxy-fuel torch system.
Shanks are available in two types: the more portable Lightweight and the Heavy Duty. Choose the version that matches your torch system and workload.
You will also need a compatible mixer to combine the gases and hold the nozzle, plus the appropriate welding nozzle for your work.
