Frequently asked questions

What are these electrodes for?

They are mild steel MMA (stick) electrodes for manual metal arc welding of mild and carbon steels. They suit fabrication, maintenance and structural work.

Which classifications are included?

The range includes rutile-coated 6013 for general-purpose welding, plus low-hydrogen 7016 and 7018 for enhanced mechanical strength and improved crack resistance. Choose the classification to match the job.

What sizes are available?

They come in 2.0mm, 2.5mm, 3.2mm, 4.0mm and 5.0mm diameters. Select the diameter to suit your material thickness and current setting.

Why are these vacuum packed?

Selected low-hydrogen electrodes are vacuum-packed to preserve low moisture levels and ensure consistent weld quality. This matters for low-hydrogen electrodes where dryness is important.

When should I use a low-hydrogen electrode?

Low-hydrogen 7016 and 7018 electrodes are used where you need higher mechanical strength and better crack resistance. For general-purpose work, the 6013 is easier to run.
