Equipment has become more efficient and easier to use, while greater awareness of welder health has increased the use of fume extraction and PPE. At the same time, customer expectations and the demand for higher-quality welding have continued to grow.

How has the industry changed since I started? I've been doing this for about 38 years, so it's changed quite a bit. It's gone from mostly manual, big machines, progressed down to smaller machines, and now it's becoming less manual and more automated.
So, it's changed quite a bit since I started.
