Why is welding experience still important as automation increases?

They need the knowledge to program machines, understand settings and wire speeds, troubleshoot issues, and step in with traditional welding skills when needed to keep production moving.

As welding becomes more automated, you still need to have the experience because you need someone who is capable and experienced enough to be able to read the programs, know the wire speeds and the settings, and be capable of programming those machines. And also, should there be any failures or downtime, they need to have the experience to be able to pick up the old-style welding and continue on and finish the job.
