Why is welding experience still important as automation increases?

As welding becomes more automated, you still need to have the experience because you need someone who is capable and experienced enough to be able to read the programs, know the wire speeds and the settings, and be capable of programming those machines. And also, should there be any failures or downtime, they need to have the experience to be able to pick up the old-style welding and continue on and finish the job.
