What's the biggest misconception people have about welding fume extraction? I think it comes down to two things. First, people say it doesn't achieve anything and that it costs a lot of money.
Second, they believe it slows welders down when they're doing their job. Ultimately, having fume extraction protects the company from legal costs if an operator is exposed to welding fumes and their health is damaged, potentially leaving them disabled. That's the real reason you need fume extraction in the workplace: to protect people and look after their health.
